Happy World Vitiligo Day!

Updated: Aug 24, 2020

This is my first year celebrating it. I want to stand on the highest mountain and yell, “SHOW ME YOUR SKIN!

I am learning to accept myself just the way I am. And even though my new look is, well, NEW … I embrace it and feel gratitude for all it does for me.

The skin I wear is a barrier between my insides and the outside world. It provides protection for my body and is my largest organ. And now, my outer covering is changing colors all by itself.

What barriers are you using to protect yourself from the tenuous climate of the world right now? I encourage you to do all you can to shield yourself and those you love from hurt and harm. And by all means, please don’t hurt or harm others.

Whatever the color of your skin, please make sure the content of your character has substance, acceptance, kindness, and love.

Happy World Vitiligo Day! Cookies and cream, anyone?
