FEBRUARY 21, 2020 – THOUGH NO HERD IS IN THE STALLS, PART 3 of 3

17 Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls:  18 Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation. Habakkuk 3: 17, 18 (KJV)

Today I share a poem by Browning Hamilton:

ALONG THE ROAD

I walked a mile with Pleasure,

She chatted all the way,

But left me none the wiser

For all she had to say.

I walked a mile with Sorrow

And ne’er a word said she,

But oh the things I learned from her

When Sorrow walked with me.

Today I want you to focus on the lessons learned when your field yielded no meat, your flocks were cut off from the fold and no herds were in your stalls. In other words, what have you learned during your moments of loss and pain? Is not joy sweeter after sorrow? Is not sunshine brighter after rain?
